Livingston Arts Association is proud to present award-winning artist Rosann Toma, who will be demonstrating techniques in painting with pastels in miniature. This event will take place on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, Livingston, NJ.
Rosann Toma is a local Essex County artist who paints in pastel, acrylic, charcoal, watercolor and/or graphite. Her paintings have been exhibited in numerous exhibits and juried shows and have won honors and awards from various organizations including the Livingston Arts Association, the West Essex Art Association, the Pastel Society of New Jersey, and the Essex County Senior Art Show. She has served as co-president of the Livingston Arts Association along with Harriet Hiller and currently is a member of the Pastel Society of New Jersey, the West Essex Art Association, and the Essex Water Color Club.
Rosann’s paintings are sometimes abstract, but mostly representational, with the goal of exploring the gestures, emotions, and stories in everyday life. Lately she has been painting in miniature with the idea of sharing small moments and special spaces with her “mini pastel” paintings. These paintings are 4” x 6” “snapshots” of landscapes, florals, birds, etc., and represent a special place, a special object, or a special time that is familiar. Like photographs shared from our phones, these small paintings tell an intimate visual story.
Livingston Arts Association, Inc., is dedicated to providing classes, sponsoring exhibitions in which members display their work, hosting demonstrations and critiques by professional artists, and awarding scholarships to Livingston High School seniors. Artists of all levels are welcome to participate in all events.
This event is free and open to the public. Invite your friends. Refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you.

We would like to continue to offer these events for free to everyone. However we need to face reality. Costs for hosting these events including the hiring of demonstrators and models as well as refreshments have increased so we will be having a donation box available to help defer some of those costs. We appreciate any support you can offer to help us to continue to provide these demonstrations.
