February 5th Demonstration

Livingston Arts Association is proud to present Laurie Harden as demonstrator at their Art Demo on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at the Community/Senior Center, 204 Hillside Ave., Livingston, NJ, from 2 to 4 PM. Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Laurie attended Kansas City Art Institute and majored in Painting. She transferred to the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, R.I. where she majored in Illustration studying under Mahler Ryder, Panos Ghikas, and Roger Pontbriand. Ms. Harden was graduated from RISD with a BFA in 1976.

As an art instructor & freelance illustrator, some of her clients have included Ladies HomeJournal, Redbook, N.Y. Daily News, N.Y. Times, McGraw-Hill, Harper and Collins, Grosset and Dunlap, Pearson Learning, Scholastic, Cricket Magazine Group, Dell Magazines & Simon andSchuster.

Ms. Harden is a member of The Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Allied Artists, the AmericanArtists Professional League, The Pastel Society of America, The Pastel Society of N.J., & the Art Centre of NJ.

She has exhibited at the National Arts Club, The AAPL Show at the Salmagundi Club, and The Pen & Brush Club in N.Y.C as well as several venues in New Jersey and New York, in both group and solo exhibits. Among the numerous awards that she has been fortunate to receive are Best in Show at several venues in New York and New Jersey.

Her work is known both nationally and internationally in the collections of the National Cancer Institute, Sloane Kettering Hospital, St. Barnabas Hospital, N.J. Governor Brendan Bryne and the late Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi.

We would like to continue to offer these events for free to everyone. However we need to face reality. Costs for hosting these events including the hiring of demonstrators and models have increased so we will be having a donation box available to help defer some of those costs. We appreciate any support you can offer to help us to continue to provide these demonstrations.
