The Livingston Arts Association is proud to present award-winning artist and instructor Wendy A. Born, who will demonstrate techniques for incorporating texture into your paintings on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, Livingston, NJ.
After studying at Parsons School of Design, the School of Visual Arts, and the Art Students League, Wendy worked as a designer in the fashion industry, became a published children’s book illustrator, and later earned both a B.A. and an M.A. in art education.
According to Wendy:
“My work celebrates everyday beauty — those fleeting moments of light, shadow, and color that remind us to slow down and feel joy. I’m inspired by local parks and gardens, as well as road trips where I set up to paint on location. Every painting is created with vibrant colors and rich texture, inviting you to rediscover beauty in the world around you. Today, I balance painting, commissions, and teaching — a lifelong commitment to creating and sharing meaningful art.”
The Livingston Arts Association is dedicated to providing classes, sponsoring exhibitions where members display their work, hosting demonstrations and critiques by professional artists, and awarding scholarships to Livingston High School seniors. Artists of all levels are welcome.
This event is free and open to the public. Bring a friend and join us for an inspiring afternoon of creativity. Refreshments will be served.

We would like to continue to offer these events for free to everyone. However we need to face reality. Costs for hosting these events including the hiring of demonstrators and models as well as refreshments have increased so we will be having a donation box available to help defer some of those costs. We appreciate any support you can offer to help us to continue to provide these demonstrations.
