Livingston Arts Association is proud to present Sarah Canfield, who will demonstrate techniques in merging photographic and painting processes on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Senior/Community Center, 204 Hillside Avenue, Livingston, NJ. This one of the six free demonstrations that Livingston Arts Association offers to the community each year.
Sarah Canfield is a multidisciplinary visual artist working in painting, photography and sculpture. She has exhibited extensively in venues including the New Jersey State Museum, The Montclair Art Museum, the Morris Museum, the Pennsylvania State Museum, Woodmere Art Museum, Montclair State University, the Noyes Museum, and the Google corporate offices in New York City. She received her BFA in painting, cum laude, from Alfred University in Alfred, New York, and she is an instructor at the Montclair Art Museum and Union County College. Her studio is located in Manufacturer’s Village in East Orange, New Jersey. Sarah received project grants from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and she is the recipient of a 2022 Fellowship from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Sarah will be giving a demonstration focusing on techniques involved in merging photographic and painting processes. She will demonstrate some image transfer techniques paired with the application of various drawing and painting media.
Livingston Arts Association, Inc., is dedicated to providing classes, sponsoring exhibitions in which members display their work, hosting demonstrations and critiques by professional artists, and awarding scholarships to Livingston High School seniors. Artists of all levels are welcome to participate in all events.
